VISIT TO THE GENERAL DIRECTORATE OF FORESTRY AND THE CHAMBER OF FOREST ENGINEERS - DECEMBER 27, 2024

First-year students from the Faculty of Forestry`s Department of Forestry Engineering, accompanied by course coordinator Dr. Bora İMAL, visited the General Directorate of Forestry (OGM) and the Chamber of Forest Engineers (ORMÜH) in Ankara as part of their "Introduction to Forestry Engineering" course.

During the visit, Dr. İMAL and the students met with OGM Director General Bekir Karacabey, who shared insights on the organizational structure of OGM and the forestry engineering profession. They also visited various OGM departments, including the Afforestation, Silviculture, and Fire Management Divisions, learning about their activities. The students concluded their visit with a tour of the Forestry Museum located on the OGM campus.

Later, they visited the Chamber of Forest Engineers, where II. President Ahmet Kara and other members discussed the chamber`s activities and the profession`s various career paths. Dr. İMAL emphasized that such visits are a valuable source of motivation for students` professional development.
