“Step by Step to the Summit” Trekking Event Successfully Conducted

The Nature and Camping Club successfully organized the “Step by Step to the Summit” trekking event on June 4, 2026, at Hazım Dağlı Nature Park in Yapraklı.

The event was attended by 28 first- and second-year students from the Faculty of Forestry, along with Prof. Dr. Meriç Çakır, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ebru Gül, and representatives from the Yapraklı Forest Enterprise Chiefdom and the Provincial Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks.

Conducted under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Meriç Çakır, the event aimed to enhance social interaction among students while providing an opportunity to explore and observe nature firsthand. During the trekking activity, participants gained valuable insights into forest ecosystems, biodiversity, and the vital role of red wood ants in maintaining ecological balance and supporting forest conservation.

The event contributed to increasing environmental awareness among students, strengthening their understanding of forest ecosystems from a scientific perspective, and fostering teamwork and social engagement in a natural setting.
