Seed and Nursery Sector Meets Students at the “Rooting for the Future” Event

The “Rooting for the Future: The Seed and Nursery Sector Speaks” event, organized by the Nature and Camping Club of Çankırı Karatekin University, was held on May 7, 2026 , at the Faculty of Science Conference Hall. The event brought together approximately 80 second-, third-, and fourth-year students of the Faculty of Forestry, academic staff members, and representatives from the General Directorate of Forestry. “Step by Step to the Summit” Trekking Event Successfully Conducted

The Nature and Camping Club successfully organized the “Step by Step to the Summit” trekking event on June 4, 2026 , at Hazım Dağlı Nature Park in Yapraklı . The event was attended by 28 first- and second-year students from the Faculty of Forestry, along with Prof. Dr. Meriç Çakır , Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ebru Gül , and representatives from the Yapraklı Forest Enterprise Chiefdom and the Provincial Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks. Conducted under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Meriç Çakır, the event aimed to enhance social interaction among students while providing an opportunity to explore and observe nature firsthand. VISIT TO THE GENERAL DIRECTORATE OF FORESTRY AND THE CHAMBER OF FOREST ENGINEERS - DECEMBER 27, 2024

First-year students from the Faculty of Forestry`s Department of Forestry Engineering, accompanied by course coordinator Dr. Bora İMAL, visited the General Directorate of Forestry (OGM) and the Chamber of Forest Engineers (ORMÜH) in Ankara as part of their "Introduction to Forestry Engineering" course. During the visit, Dr. İMAL and the students met with OGM Director General Bekir Karacabey, who shared insights on the organizational structure of OGM and the forestry engineering profession. They also visited various OGM departments, including the Afforestation, Silviculture, and Fire Management Divisions, learning about their activities. Introduction to Forest Engineering Field Application -ILGAZ 2023

Students of Forest Engineering Division of our Faculty had their practical lesson of “Introduction to Forest Engineering” course in Ilgaz Forest Enterprise Directorate under the guidance of Assist. Prof.Dr. Bora İMAL. In the practice lesson, firstly Çankırı Forest Enterprise Directorate were visited and its works were introduced. In the second stage of the application, a day of the Forest Engineer in the field was summarized by going to the forests of Ilgaz-Yenice-Kadınçayırı region and giving examples from forestry practices. Ilgaz Forestry Operations Manager Mehmet Akif KILIÇARSLAN, Forestry Operations Chiefs Zeynep GÜREL, Ulviye KAYNAK, Forest Conservation Officer and Forest Workers accompanied the practice lesson. We would like to thank our colleagues who did not leave us alone in the practice lesson despite their busy work schedule and agenda.

The Landscape Architecture Department`s Exhibition: Design Workshop ’23

Design Workshop is a course that aims to develop skills of thinking abstractly and concretely, imagining, producing ideas and expressing ideas produced with different techniques. In this context, different workshops are held every week. The course promotes collective thinking, discussion and peer production. In each workshop, a technique is transformed productions with a different technique. The course that lecture is Basak OZER (PhD) from Department of Landscape Architecture, is set up an exhibition at the end of each semester. The purpose of the exhibitions is to create an interaction platform by sharing the productions with the other students of the university. In this context, the exhibition, which consists of twelve different workshop productions held in the 2022-23 Fall semester, is open to visitors until March 19th. You can visit in the corridor where the classrooms of the Department of Landscape Architecture are located (ground floor of the Faculty of Law building).

Introduction to Forest Engineering Course - Visiting The General Directorate of Forestry and The Chamber of Forest Engineers

The first-year students of the forest engineering department of our faculty visited the General Directorate of Forestry and the Chamber of Forest Engineers in Ankara, accompanied by Dr. Bora İMAL. During the visit, Deputy General Director of Forestry Recep ATEŞ was visited in his office. Forestry Deputy General Manager ATEŞ introduced OGM and shared his professional experiences with our students. Then, the departments affiliated to the General Directorate of Forestry were visited. During the visit, the relevant departments were introduced, and information was given about their working areas. In the second stage of the tour, the Chamber of Forest Engineers was visited, and the chamber managers introduced the Chamber of Forest Engineers and gave information about the special working areas of our profession. Our practice lessons will continue without slowing down.

Introduction to Forest Engineering Course Field Trip

Students of Forest Engineering Division of our Faculty had their first practical lesson of “Introduction to Forest Engineering” course in Çankırı Forest Enterprise Directorate under the guidance of Assist. Prof.Dr. Bora İMAL. One of our faculty members, Assoc. Dr. Ender BUĞDAY has joined too. In the practice lesson, firstly Çankırı Forest Enterprise Directorate were visited and its works were introduced. Then, Forest Chiefs were visited in their offices and some information were given about technical characteristics of water-tender and first forest fire responder vehicles in the Forest Enterprise Garden. In the first step of the practice, one day of a Forest Engineer in the field demonstrated with some forestry applications in Yapraklı forest region. Our practice lessons will continue without slowing down.

Landscape Architecture Students` 2022 Technical Trip

Landscape Architecture Students’ 2022 technical trip was organized between 13-17 June 2022 in order to reinforce the academic knowledge obtained during their four years of education and to contribute to their professional and personal development. The trip, which was held under the responsibility of Dr. Başak Özer, covered Ankara, Eskişehir, Bursa and Istanbul provinces. The trip started with the historical city center of Ankara, the heart of Turkey. Ankara is hosted the periods of the Romans, Byzantines, Seljuks and the Ottomans, dates back to the historical Christ. In this context, many places were visited: the city fortress walls, traditional houses with bay windows, historical streets on the castle skirts which are shaped according to the topographic structure of the city; and Çıkrıkçılar Street, Pirinç Khan and Sululuhan, which have an important place in the city memory.
