Forest Construction and Transportation

Forest Construction and Transportation Division is one of the nine divisions in the Department of Forest Engineering. Education activities in the Department of Forest Engineering started in the academic year of 1996-1997. The first students graduated from the department in 2000. Graduate level education in Forest Construction and Transportation Division started in 2010.

 

The main research areas of the division are forest roads planning; construction and maintenance techniques; forest roads hydraulic structures; mechanization in forestry; mapping, surveying and cadastral studies in forestry; planning and occupational safety in forestry and ergonomics; forest commissioning, transportation and harvesting techniques in forestry; forest transportation planning; geographic information sciences (GIS) in forestry.
