We’re Speaking the Language of the Forest for Our Forests..!
The "Introduction to Forest Engineering" course has recently kicked off its field practices under the guidance of Silviculture Department member Dr. Bora İmal. During the first week, we visited Çankırı Forest Management, where students gained insight into its operations and responsibilities and met with our dedicated colleagues at the Directorate, Nursery, and DKMP offices. The team also received a technical briefing on the firefighting equipment used in the field.
In the second week, we explored forestry practices in the Yapraklı region. Students were introduced to local tree species and observed essential forest management techniques, such as marking, cutting, and grading. We covered vital topics like forest protection and social forestry, ending the week with a visit to a fire lookout tower.
